dressed up version of Utilikilt Mocker
On a recent trip to Beijing I brought my Mocker to a tailor, and had it copied. I selected charcoal gray suit-quality wool. I provided my own heavy duty snaps of the same type used on authentic Utilikilts -- they're available in any good notions department.
Here's the result -- I wore it to dinner tonight for the first time, and got compliments from people who aren't necessarily into kilts, so it felt like a success.
I also had it made in a woolen tartan plaid which I like even better; see previous photo.
